Need to recharge? We have some amazing bench view Need to recharge? We have some amazing bench views for you to enjoy! Come on out, conditions are fantastic today with a light dusting of fresh snow over fresh grooming from the last snowfall ❄️ It’s a sparkling, sunny snow kind of day!
Trails are in A-moosing conditions right now with Trails are in A-moosing conditions right now with a new dump of snow as we speak! There is a moose with 2 calves that have been around both campsite loops and up and around mill trail so be sure to make some noise and give them the space they need! Also watch for a few sections where the moose tracks have broke up the ski tracks quite a bit.

With the fresh snow and the temperature looking like it will come up a bit it should be a fantastic weekend to get out and enjoy! ❄️
Congrats to our very own volunteer extraordinaire Congrats to our very own volunteer extraordinaire Larry Hennig! Larry was instrumental in bringing a new standard of grooming and trail maintenance, and he did so in a collaborative manner, a task not easily accomplished for a team comfortable in their ways! In his 6 years in the board of the club he has researched and recommended the purchase of all equipment for grooming and maintenance of the trails, widening the trails, equipment that improve the efficiency of the grooming process, or where we can get the best bang for the buck for equipment and it’s maintenance and repair. One day he spent almost all day on the phone trying to find a replacement fuel tank for our 2012 sled!

Larry’s ability to work well with other’s has enabled him to put together a team of people that will groom trails and/or repair sleds and other grooming equipment in the winter and do maintenance on the trails in the summer.

This is for the volunteer of the year, however Larry should likely have been nominated for this award for 7 years!! His dedication to the club and support for non-motorized recreation of all ages is something that is truly to be commended.

Thank you for all you have done and do Larry ⭐️

Yay our snow dances are starting to work and we go Yay our snow dances are starting to work and we got a bit of snow!!

With this little bit of snow we ask that you PLEASE follow these signs and keep all multi use to the side and not down the middle which is groomed for skate skiing as well as whenever Classic skiers need or want to come out of the track. It can get dangerous for skiers to be skiing on groomed area with deep foot punctures. This privilege is reserved for wild life only.

Moose ✅
Humans not on skis ❌

The groomers have done an amazing job keeping a track with scant amounts of snow the last few weeks so keep doing the snow dances and hopefully we will get some more snow! There are still icy areas especially the first hill up mainline and the hill down to the lake on mainline so use caution. Layer up if you are head out to enjoy the trails this weekend, it sounds like it could be crisp ❄️

Grooming Update! We will not be grooming in temper Grooming Update! We will not be grooming in temperatures below -20C to -25C depending on windchill. Below these temperatures, men and equipment have a hard time, breakdowns are more common and only a few hardy souls use the trails !

At 11:00am this morning the Allison weather station says it’s -35C at the garage. Chances are we will not get out today but we are monitoring weather closely and will be out as soon as we can. We still hope to get trails groomed before Christmas but the weather is not in our control!

Stay warm everyone!!❄️
