The club is planning to have a work day on September 30th. Tasks will likely include some brushing of low vegetation, the trimming of some trees, removal of rocks from trails, spreading wood chips in the areas near the parking lot and waxing the loaner skis for the winter. Please mark your calendars to come out and help the club prepare for the upcoming ski season – maybe someone will bake some cookies for the occasion? More details and meeting time will be posted later.
If you look at the Spot WX weather forecast the the slopes of Tornado Mountain to the north of us expect up to 20 cms of new snow on Tuesday night/ Wednesday (19-20 September) so winter is on the way.
Some people, like the web guy, often find snow in all months of the year. The above photo is looking back down the route to 11900′ McGee Pass in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California on August 17th. There was 300% of normal snow there last winter so it is taking a long time to melt!
